“I am a married family man with two grown up children. My wife and I are also foster parents who specialise in providing therapeutic placements for children with emotional and behavioural problems. For the past eight years we have fostered a fourteen-year-old boy and for the last three years, an eight-year-old with global delay and autism who attends a special school in Warwickshire.
I am a Director at Malachi Specialist Family Support Services with responsibility for strategic planning and business development. My key skills include strategic thinking, project development, funding acquisition, project implementation and quality assurance.
Prior to choosing to focus my business skills in the third sector, I was the Operations Director at Home Learning Direct who were one of the largest private providers of distance learning education in the UK.
My business experiences within the social care and further education sector have been centred on developing excellent quality services whilst at the same time growing the businesses significantly. In my last two posts I facilitated the organisations achievement of ISO 9001 quality assurance certification whilst also increasing significantly the number of people the organisations have been able to support.
During 2014/15 I was a member of the IEB for Saltley School and subsequently became the chair of governors on the schools local governing body. Since 2015 I have also been a director at Washwood Heath Multi-Academy Trust. Currently I am interim chair at Tile Cross Academy LGB.
From May 2016 until January 2018, when the school successfully became part of Tauheedul Education Trust, I was a member of Small Heath School IEB. I was also a member of Queensbury IEB over the past two years.
From December 2017 until it became part of the Arden Academy in early 2019, I was on the Board of Governors and a Director at Henley in Arden School.”
