Experience and Skill Set

David has experience in a wide variety of leadership and managerial roles in education, including: National Lead for CPD, Teaching and Learning Coach, Advisory Deputy Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Acting Headteacher and Headteacher. In school governor roles he has successfully managed change so that the school restructure has resulted in a stable financial position,  improved exam outcomes, attendance and behaviour.

David’s experience has been in large and small secondary schools, in areas of economic privilege as well as areas of high deprivation. He has successfully raised standards of attainment, attendance, behaviour and teaching and learning. David is analytical and astute in monitoring, school self-evaluation and development planning and proficient in the use of qualitative and quantitative data to improve the quality of teaching and learning. He has strong interpersonal and communication skills which empower others and create a culture of collaboration, fostering professional growth and shared leadership.

David has worked in the state and independent sector; with leadership experience across all age ranges and with schools in Birmingham as Head of Service and in Doncaster as an Assistant Director of Education.

About Me

In addition, he has worked with schools in Belgium, China, S. Africa, USA , UAE and Wales leading on the following areas: teaching and learning, change management, gifted and talented education, student leadership, school inspection and as Headteacher. 

David has experience as IEB Chair, safeguarding governor of two Birmingham Primary schools and SEMH schools in Suffolk.
