A Welcome to Queensbury
By Veronica Jenkins
Queensbury is a good school with high aspirations for students, staff and those with whom we work in partnership with.
Queensbury School is a true learning organisation with effective collaboration between staff; people are encouraged to learn from each other, take the initiative and try new approaches; learning is gained from both success and failure.
We recognise the individual nature, needs and potential futures of our students and therefore aim high in the curriculum provision in KS3, in achieving examination results in KS4 and ensure that students have the skills for transition for college/work/independent living through 6th form.
To achieve this we invest heavily in the training and support of staff recognised by us achieving Silver Investors in People last year.
Our mission statement gives us focus and direction in our work, guiding the decisions we make around curriculum coverage to the type of support offered to students.
At Queensbury we work closely together to create a stable, happy, hard working community where everyone matters and diversity is embraced.
Students are supported to reach their goals and develop the skills of independence to become motivated and confident citizens.
We are proud to have OFSTED recognise our outstanding features as the development of independence skills, relationships between students and staff, governance and ICT.
